The Nobles County Board approved a new contract with Smith & Johnson to provide prosecution services in 2025 at an annual cost of $175,000. The minutes note that the firm currently provides appellate services to the county and that those appellate services will remain in place through 2028.
The County Attorney’s Office had presented an alternative to continue a contract with Eckberg Lammers at $187,000 per year (with a reduction in services such as law enforcement training). The board approved Smith & Johnson’s proposal; the minutes record the motion as duly passed.
