Board adds future Committee agenda items on shotgun zone statement and annex shelter discussion
Summary
Following a public hearing on the shotgun zone repeal, the Board voted to add a future Committee of the Board item for a formal statement on the repeal, and separately added a discussion item to explore using the county annex as an emergency-only homeless shelter.
After the public hearing on the Shotgun Zone Repeal, the Board voted 5-0 on a motion by Commissioner Dwayne Voegeli (seconded by Commissioner Chris M. Meyer) to add an item to a future Committee of the Board meeting for the County Board to make a statement regarding the repeal.
Separately, the Board voted 5-0 on a motion by Commissioner Voegeli (seconded by Commissioner Greg Olson) to add a discussion item to a future Committee meeting regarding the potential use of the county annex as an emergency-only homeless shelter. Both motions were recorded as additions to future committee agendas; no committee discussion occurred at the Feb. 24 meeting.
