Watonwan County staff flag injunctions and court rulings affecting SNAP and TANF; transportation changes noted

Pluym said these legal developments are affecting implementation timelines and county planning.
Pluym also reported that a temporary restraining order is temporarily preventing a freeze of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and childcare funds, and a separate judicial ruling has paused enforcement of a SNAP pilot that would require large-scale, in-person eligibility reviews. She told the board the state is expected to assume responsibility for non-emergency medical transportation on July 1, 2026, though counties anticipate continued involvement in approvals and coordination as details emerge.
