County Sheriff Jared Bergeman requested approval to hire Christopher Burban as an on-call deputy to assist with staffing needs; the Board approved the hire unanimously at the Jan. 6 meeting.
The Board also approved the promotion of Deputy Sheriff Brandon Sprenger and accepted the retirements in good standing of Dave Flemming and Earl Kunz. The Board reviewed and approved a Memorandum of Agreement for law enforcement that "includes newly added language addressing Minnesota Paid Leave requirements and provisions related to sick and personal leave," and unanimously approved the contract for non-licensed jailers and dispatchers, which includes proposed compensation adjustments. No vote tallies beyond "passed unanimously" were recorded in the minutes.
