Vision Bank pitches local P-Card option; commissioners discuss lodging-only cards and fraud protections

Vision Bank representatives Mason Dillard and Maddy Lewis presented to the Pontotoc County Board of Commissioners during the June 15 meeting on possible local P-Card (purchase card) arrangements.
Lewis told the BOCC that the product carries "zero fraud liability" if the county chose Vision Bank, and Dillard described cash-back and reporting features. County officials said they are awaiting instructions from the State Auditor and Inspector before finalizing a move away from bank-of-origin P-Card arrangements; the board earlier approved issuing seven initial cards with a $5,000 lodging limit for specified officials, subject to state guidance.
Treasurer Paula Hall and First Deputy County Clerk Keressa Cranford discussed operational needs such as transaction controls and reporting. The BOCC asked staff to continue outreach to local banks and to present a formal policy once the SA&I and local vendors' details were confirmed.
