Woodward County imposes countywide burn ban through June 15 amid D-3/D-4 drought

Chairman Clint White said the board had filed and posted the agenda and called the regular meeting to order, then moved to approve a countywide burn ban effective June 1 through June 15. “Motion was made by C. White to approve county wide burn ban June 1st thru June 15th with removal of last sentence of paragraph 2 with some additional wording about outdoor welding, cooking & fireworks,” the record shows; the motion was seconded by Thorn and the board voted all ayes.
White noted the order “could be revised next Monday because of possible rain” and cited drought conditions, saying the county is “in a D-3 & D-4 on the drought chart.” The board instructed staff to return the item for reconsideration next week and specifically noted it will address rules for public and private fireworks ahead of July 4.
