Bernadette Cornelius elected chair; Artrianna Morris named vice chair of Hanover County Council on Aging

The Hanover County Council on Aging elected Bernadette Cornelius as chair and Artrianna Morris as vice chair during its meeting on Jan. 12, 2026, in Ashland. Diane Cullen nominated Cornelius for chair, seconded by Shirley Strickler; a voice vote of "all Ayes" elected Cornelius. Cullen also nominated Artrianna Morris for vice chair, seconded by Janice Henicheck; a voice vote of "all Ayes" elected Morris.
The council noted that the secretary position will be placed on the February agenda. The new leadership will preside over the council's 2026 planning efforts, including event teams and worksessions scheduled for February and March. The meeting adjourned at 3:56 p.m.
