Somerset County commissioners approve contracts, policy updates, personnel actions and warrants

The Somerset County Commission used its June 18 meeting to approve several contracts and routine county business, including personnel actions, a policy update and warrants totaling $289,851.38.
The board approved Resolution 25-108 to renew the County Administrator contract effective July 11, 2025 through June 30, 2027. Commissioners also approved a policing services contract with the Town of Madison (Resolution 25-109) and a School Resource Officer contract among the Somerset Sheriff’s Office, Town of Madison and MSAD59 (Resolution 25-110); each motion passed 4-0. Resolution 25-111 updated the county Internet, Email and Computer Use Policy to remove blanket blocking of social media and web-based email while noting those services will be monitored for appropriate use.
The Commission accepted resignations from Corrections Officer Charles Poissonnier (Resolution 25-112) and Legal Secretary Donna Picard (Resolution 25-113) and authorized posting the legal secretary position. Commissioners approved a $10,000 matching grant payment for SEDC Tech Lab renovations and equipment (Resolution 25-114). The Treasurer’s Warrant (Resolution 25-118) covering General Fund ($148,427.32), SCJ ($78,603.52), Unorganized Territories ($52,320.54), TIF Tax Revenue ($500.00) and TIF Community Benefit ($10,000.00) totaled $289,851.38 and carried 4-0.
The meeting also included approval of modest capital reallocations to correct overages (Resolution 25-115). Several items were routine, carried unanimously, and will proceed under the county’s normal administrative processes.
