The Somerset County Commission approved a recommendation from the TIF Committee to contribute $110,000 toward the purchase of a new groomer for the Pittston Farms Snowmobile Club at the June 18 meeting.
Commissioner Cyp Johnson moved the TIF recommendation, Commissioner Scott Seekins seconded and the motion carried 4-0. U/T Coordinator David Spencer told the board the total cost of the groomer is more than $350,000; the club plans to finance the remainder with a loan and an application for a State Matching Grant.
Commissioners did not discuss specific loan terms or the State grant status during the meeting; the action records only the TIF contribution approval (Resolution 25-117).
