Commissioners press applicants on temporary dumpster, loading spaces and stormwater setbacks at Brickworks

Planning staff told the commission the dumpster placement is currently proposed in a stub that may remain for years if Pad 2 is not submitted, and that the modification would therefore be treated as permanent unless and until Pad 2 comes forward. Staff also reiterated two competing design standards: parking setbacks for shopping centers and the building‑to‑sidewalk orientation rule, which the applicant has reversed because of the stormwater conveyance. Commissioners urged clarity about what would happen if Pad 2 never materializes and asked the applicant to include screening and operational details for trash collection.
