Huachuca City Council schedules work session to explore annexation north of town

Huachuca City Manager Suzanne Harvey asked the council to direct staff to study the possible annexation of land along Highway 90 north of town and portions of Lower Huachuca City. The study will look at the cost of extending water, sewer and other municipal services, the interest level of property owners, and potential benefits for current town residents.
Mayor Johann R. Wallace said he “wanted this back on the Agenda so we can get a work session scheduled and really get into it and see what we are looking at.” The council agreed to hold a work session on April 2, 2026 to examine annexation scenarios, deferring the previously planned CDBG work session. Staff was directed to prepare cost estimates and an outreach plan for affected property owners.
