The Huachuca City Council on Jan. 8 authorized repairs to a Caterpillar D6 dozer/tractor in the approximate amount of $47,282.63.
Public Works representative Michael Fox told the council that the repairs were needed after issues were discovered during routine checks and that parts being replaced had worn out with time. "These repairs are needed to keep the machine running," Fox said. The motion to approve the repair cost was moved by Mayor Johann R. Wallace, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Christy Hirshberg and passed unanimously.
Council members did not record additional discussion about financing at the meeting; the repair was processed as a single action item under new business.
