Board approves 5-foot fence variance on corner lot in Red Ember North

At its July 2026 meeting, the Seminole County Board of Adjustment approved a request to raise a permitted fence height from 4 feet to 5 feet for a corner lot at 3355 Pine Timber Point in the Red Ember North subdivision.
Planning staff told the board the proposed aluminum fence would sit about 3 inches from the sidewalk and 5 feet from the pavement edge and that "Traffic engineering has no objection to the placement of the fence as it relates to site visibility," according to the staff presentation. Staff also reported the Red Ember North Homeowners Association had approved the project.
No members of the public spoke for or against the variance. After brief board questions about prior permitting records, a board member moved to approve and the motion received a second. The board voted to approve the variance. The item concluded with Chair noting the item could be appealed to the Board of County Commissioners and staff offering post-meeting assistance on appeals.
