Finance Director Tyler Olsen presented multiple supplemental appropriation requests on Jan. 20, 2026. The Board approved revenue of $40,699 from the General Fund Balance, $31,000 from state funds (VDFP PPE grant), and $189,922 from federal funds (BJA/COSSAP grant extension), and approved expenditures of $221,372 to the General Fund budget and $40,249 to the Recreation Enterprise Fund budget. The total of listed requests was $261,621, covering an animal shelter transit van, shelter supplies, Fire‑EMS equipment, and expanded JMAT program spending before grant expiration.
The Board withheld action on a separate $10,000 request from the Recreation Enterprise Fund balance for design‑build consulting for the proposed recreation center until the Board reaches a consensus on the facility’s location; the location discussion was placed on the Feb. 2 work session agenda. The appropriation motions carried unanimously (6‑0).
