The Page County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Jan. 20, 2026, to hold a public hearing at its Feb. 17 regular meeting on a road abandonment request from the Town of Luray concerning a segment of State Route 736. County Administrator Amity Moler presented the town’s letter asking that Page County and the Virginia Department of Transportation remove the segment from the county’s secondary roads inventory and concede future maintenance and ownership to the Town of Luray.
Supervisor Jeff Vaughan moved to schedule the hearing and directed staff to provide notice in accordance with the Code of Virginia; Supervisor Allen Louderback seconded. The motion carried 6‑0. The public hearing will allow residents and affected parties to comment before the Board takes any final action.
