Board approves Technology Zone expansion to include four parcels tied to Project 460

Deputy County Administrator David Conmy told the board that Project 460 identified Sussex County's Technology Zone, adopted in November 2022, as a key factor in locating the project and that the Special Use Permit boundary for Project 460 is not coterminous with the current zone. To make local Technology Zone incentives available across the full Project 460 site, Conmy asked the board to add four parcels: 7‑A‑23, 7‑A‑36, 8‑A‑5 and 8‑A‑6.
The board opened a public hearing on the proposed Technology Zone boundary adjustment; no members of the public commented. Following brief board discussion the board voted to approve the boundary adjustment and directed staff to amend the county's Technology Zone ordinance and the zone map (the Technology Zone ordinance was originally adopted Nov. 17, 2022).
