County Administrator Richard Douglas was directed to "look into options for restarting recycling services (including appliances, metals, and furniture) at county convenience sites and develop a plan with associated costs for the board's consideration." The discussion recalled that recycling collection at convenience centers was cut around 2023 and noted problems at Courthouse convenience sites such as full dumpsters and locked gates.
Board members and staff framed the action as a staff assignment to research options and costs rather than an immediate policy change; Douglas will return with proposed approaches, estimated expenses, and implementation steps for the Board to consider at a future meeting.
