Board approves one-year planning contract with Berkley Group; payment by work order

Administrator Richard Douglas presented a proposed contract to continue using the Berkley Group for planning and other local government consulting services. The contract term is one year with renewals allowed for up to five years, and Douglas told the board the payment schedule would be determined per work order, as under the prior contract. "Approval of this contract would allow for the continued use of Berkley for staffing of county planning functions," staff noted in the packet.
Board members discussed the dollar amount listed in the contract packet but no specific contract sum was adopted during the meeting. On motion of Supervisor Fly, seconded by Supervisor Baicy, the Board approved the contract; all members present voted aye. The contract authorization preserves the flexibility to negotiate and approve specific work orders and corresponding fees for planning tasks such as solar CUP reviews and temporary staffing.
