Board approves slate of county and regional appointments

At its Jan. 8 meeting the Grayson County Board of Supervisors approved a series of appointments to local advisory boards and regional commissions. Actions included nomination and approval of Supervisor Michael B. Watson as the Ag Advisory Committee representative, appointment of alternates to BRCEDA and Solid Waste committees, and reappointments and new appointments to the Planning Commission and other bodies; the Board recorded motions as carried, frequently by 5-0 votes.
County Administrator Stephen A. Boyer also briefed the Board on staffing and representation needs; he recommended that newly elected supervisors be appointed to the Wireless Authority and that he temporarily fill a deputy role until the incoming PSA director starts Jan. 19. One Planning Commission reappointment (Lisa Hash) passed with a recorded abstention (4-0 with one abstention).
