Chairman Vito Gentile opened the meeting and members discussed a proposed update to the Citizens Advisory Committee mission statement, noting it has changed only once since 2006 and that the committee’s role has shifted toward reviewing implementation of Plan action items.
Member Mike Liskey moved that the revised mission statement be presented to the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors; Bill Wine seconded and the motion carried with all members present agreeing. The committee agreed to collect community input and share reactions so a report can be prepared for the Board of Supervisors in October.
Member Mark Dotson said the committee should validate and refine action items to guide implementation, and Lemuel Hancock was assigned to transmit the new statement to the board and provide any feedback to the CAC. The committee recorded that the motion passed unanimously.
