During board-member comments on Feb. 19 the Courthouse District supervisor said work has begun on a landmark for the Sussex County Training School and announced the JAM Foundation's 9th annual community Easter egg hunt scheduled for April 4, 2026 at 1 p.m., in partnership with SKYMAC, Petersburg Drifters and Petersburg Epicurean. The announcement included a date and partners; the minutes record it as a district update.
The Henry District supervisor asked the county to explore installing a welcome sign for Sussex County; Deputy County Administrator and Economic Development Director David Conmy suggested holding a design competition if the Board approved the idea. The Henry District supervisor also proposed creating a Sussex County television advertisement to promote and market the county. The minutes also include reference to fiscal policy being under consideration.
