Builder offers to fund taxiways and hangars if renters commit

Members heard from a board member that a hanger-builder who visited the field offered to finance and build taxiways, hangars and utility connections if he could secure enough renters. "I'll go ahead and pay for the taxiways and build these hangars," the member recounted that the builder had said.
Board members cautioned that any privately funded construction must meet county engineering standards, drainage requirements and FAA grant-assurance conditions. The board said a finalized lease and engineering plans would be required before a developer could move forward.
