Board backs Land Bank request to seek state funds for Horner Mill remediation

Treasurer Darius Reyna asked the board to pass a resolution expressing full county support for the Eaton County Land Bank Authority and the City of Eaton Rapids to pursue state funding for the Horner Mill remediation and demolition.
Reyna described prior work with the city and said the county and land bank have secured some remediation funding but need additional appropriations to move forward; he said the resolution was intended to build a broad base for a state appropriation request. "The Eaton County Board of Commissioners hereby expresses its full support [for] the Eaton County Land Bank Authority and City of Eaton Rapids ... to secure state of Michigan funding for the Horner Mill project," Reyna read. The board approved the resolution.
