Grayson County projects $30.2M in FY2027 revenues; intergovernmental receipts rise while property‑use revenue falls

County finance staff presented a FY2027 revenue estimate of $30,206,227, an increase of $265,295 from the FY2026 estimate. Highlights in the staff table included General Property Taxes projected at $15,448,700 and Intergovernmental Revenue at $9,097,016 (up $500,503). Revenue from use of money and property was shown falling to $413,750 (down $260,250) and Charges for Services were projected at $2,318,150 (down $92,050).
Staff attributed part of the charges-for-services decline to lower recycling revenues and the loss of a $55,000 garbage pickup contract with the Town of Independence. The Treasurer's office is pursuing delinquent taxes and using DMV stops as part of collection efforts. Staff cautioned that the net effect left limited one-time options and that balancing the budget under current assumptions could leave a roughly $1 million shortfall.
