Board nominates Hickory Lane, Walnut Lane as SSYP candidates for VDOT review
Summary

At the work session, Stephen A. Boyer told the Board the county must submit two or three candidate routes for VDOT’s Secondary Six‑Year Plan (SSYP) review. Supervisor Mary E. Dickenson Tomlinson moved to nominate Hickory Lane as the county's first choice and Walnut Lane as the second; Supervisor C.S. 'Sandy' Cunningham seconded. The Board adopted the motion on a 4-0 vote at that time.
Board members discussed which roads to prioritize on the candidate list and instructed staff to proceed with the SSYP submission process to VDOT. No dollar amounts or project schedules were set during the session.
