County Administrator Stephen A. Boyer briefed the board on VDOT's Secondary Six‑Year Road Plan (SSYP) process and relayed the county Residency Administrator's recommendation on candidate routes.
Boyer said that, according to Residency Administrator James Schwartz, funding for Chestnut Grove Road will need to be completed and that the project is "approximately $243,071 short of being fully funded." He said no official allocation notices had been received yet and recommended the board submit two to three routes for VDOT review and to consider route nominations at the March 5 budget work session.
The board did not take final action at the Feb. 12 meeting; members were asked to review the Route Review list and be ready to recommend routes at the March budget session.
