Teller County commissioners approved several human-services and public-health items on June 9. The Board of Human Services ratified a recurring finance-services agreement that supplies in-house finance support to the Human Services department for $12,251.12 per month (about $147,000 per year).
Public health staff received authorization to sign a $20,000, 12-month grant agreement with the Caring for Colorado Centennial Fund to support contraceptive-care access in rural Colorado. The board also authorized memoranda of understanding with the Taylor Park Early Childhood Council and with the FACT collaborative-management program to coordinate services for children, youth and families. The public-health director was authorized to sign a Business Associate Agreement with Ute Pass Regional Health Services District to ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of protected health information for shared services.
Administrator Herzog said managers value the finance agreement's ability to provide a full team and payroll services rather than a single in-house accountant. Commissioners approved the items by roll call.
