Teller County expands fairgrounds contract to add barn replacement ahead of summer events

Commissioners ratified a change order moving the fairgrounds Phase 2 contract from about $418,417 to $915,644.66 to add a barn replacement; staff will seek ways to expedite completion before summer events and schedule a site visit.
The board ratified a Page Construction change order on June 9 that increases the fairgrounds Phase 2 contract from $418,417.37 to $915,644.66 to include replacement of a barn in addition to expanded covered seating. Administrator Herzog said the work was added while crews were mobilized on site and that staff would work with the contractor to attempt an earlier completion for summer festivities.
Commissioners asked staff to perform a site visit and report back on options to accelerate the work where feasible. The motion to ratify included a direction to the administrator to follow up with the contractor and brief the board on schedule risks and opportunities.
