Reed asked the board's permission to use a contractor's truck for transport if needed and offered his excavator to stack material at a reduced rate.
"I would do it for the town for a $100 an hour," Reed said when offering his excavator and operator to help the town stack sand if necessary. Reed also reported that Cargill delivered salt and that the town's Casella contract needed a signature for winter sand production to begin. He described ongoing grant paperwork and said he had completed fieldwork on Daisy Hollow and would finish the reimbursement paperwork once invoices were gathered.
Reed urged the board to create an emergency call list for winter staffing and to decide which duties will remain with the road commissioner versus staff or an incoming assistant. He also flagged a GAOA grant for connected segments that could support road improvements in narrower areas and recommended a ride-along with an engineer to lay out potential work to reduce project costs.
