LSCOG reports budget drop and local programs; announces June board meeting in Bamberg

Dr. William Molnar, executive director of the Lower Savannah Council of Governments, told Bamberg County Council on April 14 that LSCOG’s budget decreased from "about 12 million down to a little over 9 million" since last year. He said core human services and aging programs — including services funded under the Older Americans Act — remain in operation despite the reduced budget.
Molnar also recapped LSCOG’s local activities: a Bamberg County Youth Resource and Job Fair held at the Environmental Health Education location with 17 job vendors, ongoing needs for one business member on the Workforce Development Board and two openings on the Tourism Advisory Board, and that the LSCOG board will meet in Bamberg County on Thursday, June 11 at 6 p.m. Council thanked Molnar for the regional update.
