Camden County approves lighting, pier and trail design work for county parks

The Board ratified a state-contract award to U.S. Electrical Services for lighting replacement at Wiggins Park for $491,300.55 and approved fishing pier improvements at Newton Lake Park awarded to JPC Group in the amount of $1,287,370.00. The County also amended NV5 design agreements for priority Cross Camden County Trail segments to add bid-phase and construction administration services at additional costs.
Several change orders and final payments were recorded for playground and parking-lot improvements at Cooper River Park, and the resolutions noted that some funding is contingent upon passage of the 2026 temporary or permanent budgets. Commissioner Jennifer Cooley Fleisher highlighted recent community events and partnerships in her remarks, noting the county’s community outreach work and collaborations with library and park teams.
