Camden County honors Commissioner Virginia Betteridge at final meeting

Cappelli said, "I can tell the 510,000 residents of Camden County that they've been very lucky to have Ginny Betteridge serve them over the past 3 years." Commissioner Betteridge accepted the proclamation and reflected on a long career in public service that began as a candy striper and included municipal office in Runnemede and county-level work.
Deputy Director Edward McDonnell praised Betteridge’s leadership of the Department of Health, saying she displayed "compassion for people and her caring approach" while overseeing intimate and difficult public-health matters. In later remarks from commissioners, colleagues reflected on Betteridge’s role advancing the MAC Center resolution and additional housing at the Lakeland complex. Betteridge thanked staff, colleagues and the public and said, "This is not me. This is every team member that has stood beside me." The Board closed the meeting with holiday greetings and adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
