Commissioners approve multiple board appointments and consent items at June 16 meeting

At the June 16 meeting, the Bertie County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of appointments to county boards and commissions. After nominations and voice votes the board appointed Tim Bazemore to the ABC board; confirmed Laura Orsini, Patricia Ferguson and Kelsey Rieseide as TDA officers (subject to formal approval); and approved Devin Sanders and Miles Davis to Rivers East workforce‑development seats. Other district-level appointees and at‑large seats were moved by motion and approved by voice vote.
The board also approved a package of consent items (minutes for April and May meetings; April and May registers and a tax‑release journal) and discussed several contracts. A tentative approval was given for a food‑service agreement with a local provider pending an address correction, and an interim‑healthcare agreement (Morris Group Inc.) and a transportation service agreement with CPTA were approved with requested spelling and wording amendments. Two contract line items for a special‑project consultant were tabled to allow counsel and staff to tighten language.
