Commissioners approve pursuing MOU with regional transit authority to streamline transportation funding

County staff outlined a proposed MOU with a regional public transportation authority (PPTA) to simplify invoicing, administration and distribution of funds for elderly and disability transit services. A staff presentation said the MOU would allow invoices to be sent directly to the regional authority and reduce county bookkeeping burdens.
After discussion about how the arrangement has worked in a neighboring county, the board moved, seconded and approved a motion to proceed with the MOU and next steps. "My recommendation is to streamline it and run through CPGM," staff said, recommending an administrative path that would reduce duplicate processing across departments.
