The allocation gives the jail the largest single share of the county budget. The sheriff earlier in the meeting urged commissioners to contact the Legislature to support the jail-funding proposal currently being considered in Augusta, noting the county's operational pressures. No amendments or offsets to the budget were recorded during the meeting. The commission will implement the budget for FY26 as approved.
