Board government affairs representative Dave Dazlich informed the Board that a special legislative session had been proclaimed approximately 35 minutes prior to the meeting and would begin the following day, with an anticipated end by Nov. 16 due to travel schedules. He said the special session may take up bills not passed during the regular session, including Senate Bill 434, which proposes a statewide Healthcare Access Recruitment Grant Program.
Separately, Executive Director Frank DiMaggio reminded members that the Department of Business and Industry issued updated proposed NAC regulations governing boards and commissions and that a public workshop was scheduled for Nov. 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. DiMaggio said he had already submitted comments on an earlier draft and that Board counsel or he could attend the workshop to represent the Board if members wished to take a position.
