Executive Director Frank DiMaggio told the Board Oct. 14 that licensing trends are positive, with an increase driven in part by Interstate Medical Compact license activity. He summarized the draft B&I regulations previously discussed and relayed recommendations submitted to the Department of Business and Industry. DiMaggio also reviewed changes to the Open Meeting Law included in AB 64 and AB 219, noting expanded attorney-client exception guidance and new requirements for remote public comment procedures.
The Board welcomed new counsel Micheline Fairbank, who outlined her experience in administrative and regulatory law, including prior roles at the Nevada Attorney General’s Office and as Deputy Administrator with the Nevada Division of Water Resources. Fairbank said she will prioritize outstanding settlement agreements and provide backup coverage through an associate in the Las Vegas office when necessary.
