NSTEP expands workforce and resilience programs for Harford County youth

NSTEP, a Harford County nonprofit, said it is building a network of community partners to help young people with career readiness, education and prevention supports. “We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Harford County, and our mission is to work with youth to help them learn about workforce development and … transition into adulthood,” said Sharon Jacobs, executive director of NSTEP.
Jacobs described the Harford Youth Pathways to Resilience coalition — which she said includes NSTEP, HopeWorks Global and other local providers — as a multi-sector effort combining mental-health supports, workforce development, mentoring and education about substance use. She said the coalition’s programs range from workshops and seminars to internships and mentorships to help youth “hold a job” and build financial literacy.

The segment closed with a reminder that the organization is seeking volunteers, partners and donations to fund internships, summer camps and back-to-school programs.
