County to replace aging courthouse and jail DVRs for roughly $206,625

Director of Technology Eric Sorgeson told the commissioners the county’s five digital video recorders, which operate security cameras in the Justice Building and courthouse, are old and need replacement.
"Our current DVRs are pushing 7 years old, so it's time to replace them," Sorgeson said, presenting a quote for replacement that he described as covering equipment, labor and programming. The quoted amount presented at the meeting was $206,625.
Commissioners moved to approve the purchase by voice vote. Sorgeson said an optional software upgrade included in the bid would be deferred until after installation.
The replacement will be integrated with the jail system so staff can control door access and view footage as part of existing security operations. The commissioners did not specify a separate capital appropriation during the meeting; staff will process the procurement through standard county purchasing procedures.
