The board approved a plan to raise a narrow section of Coy Hill (referred to as Fowler’s) by importing stone and bank-run gravel, installing a geotextile fabric and potentially top-coating the section with plant mix in a later phase.
Estimates provided by road staff included roughly 270 cubic yards of stone, 120 cubic yards of bank-run gravel, geotextile fabric and approximately 450 tons of plant-mix for a future top coat (an estimate of about $5,400 for the plant-mix was discussed). Board members debated doing hauling and placement with town crews (roughly 12 hours of trucking for tailings and additional trucking for bank-run) versus hiring contractors. The board approved moving forward with the proposed scope, contingent on DigSafe locates for buried utilities and scheduling with contractors or town equipment.
