The Middletown Springs Selectboard approved a right-of-way agreement permitting contractors to install a new utility pole and to replace underground electric service with a straighter alignment on Pleasant View Road to facilitate the new library project. A selectboard member moved that the town "approve and authorize a right of way agreement along Pleasant View Road to install a new pole and replace the existing underground electric service with a straighter, more favorable alignment," a motion that was seconded and approved by the board. Staff cautioned that buried electrical lines must follow town requirements (metal conduit, minimum depth where they cross the highway) and that a stake or on-site review would help finalize the pole placement before work begins.
