Board of Health approves septic variance with conditions and updates food-vendor fees

Sitting as the Teller County Board of Health, commissioners approved a variance request allowing construction of a deck that would extend roughly 8 feet over an existing on-site wastewater-treatment-system (OWTS) component, subject to conditions: access for maintenance, required inspections by Teller County Public Health & Environment, and binding applicant representations. Public-health staff recommended the conditions after a technical review.
The board also adopted an amended fee schedule for temporary retail-food vendors at special events to align county fees with recent state changes (Senate Bill 25285 as cited in staff recitals) and placed the detailed schedule in an exhibit attached to the resolution. County staff explained the updated, phased fee table (2026–2029) is meant to better cover inspection costs that have not been adjusted for many years.
