EDA reports brisk prospect activity, local openings and The Virginia Home groundbreaking

Hanover County Economic Development staff told the EDA on Dec. 3 that prospect activity remains busy across several sectors and that local commercial activity continues to move forward.
Secretary Brandon Turner and Existing Business & Project Manager Ann Glave briefed the Authority that there is strong regional interest from international manufacturing and bio/pharmaceutical firms and that data center activity remains robust. Staff named recent commercial activity, including a grand opening by Excel Truck Group and an announcement by Virginia Cardiovascular Specialist.
Staff reported The Virginia Home held a groundbreaking ceremony on Nov. 18 with over 100 people in attendance and has received a Land Disturbance Permit to begin clearing and grading. At the Crescent Business Center, building 6 is nearing completion with several pending leases and building 7 is complete and occupied. Bon Secours has a ribbon cutting scheduled next week for its new Northlake facility and is expected to open shortly thereafter.
Staff also noted that a project recently closed on a property and that an announcement is anticipated. No financial terms or employment projections were provided in the report.
