Resident shows photos, urges board to move grinder pump installed at neighbor’s driveway

Robert Smith, a resident who said he was representing an 80‑year‑old neighbor, told the board he delivered photos showing a grinder pump installed "right in the middle of a drive where he parks cars" and asked the board to relocate the unit or provide a separate tap. "This is what JPR did to a neighbor of mine, which is terrible," Smith said while presenting the photos.

Smith said the neighbor visits about "30 days a year" and called the placement inappropriate for an elderly homeowner; he also raised broader concerns about the project’s restoration work, saying crews had "tore up our roads" and cut trees and shrubs. Smith framed the concerns in the context of what he described as a "$10,000,000 project" and questioned why more oversight or checks and balances had not been applied during construction.

The chair acknowledged the comment and said staff and the district engineers would review the photos after the meeting. Board members and staff noted they would follow up with the project engineer to determine whether a relocation or additional tap was warranted and suggested discussing specifics at the engineers meeting. The board did not take immediate formal action during the public‑comment period.
