During board communications Trustee Cooper noted attendance at several promotion ceremonies and emphasized compliance with California Education Code about flag display in classrooms. He cited the statute number and said governing boards "shall provide for each schoolhouse under its control a suitable flag" and provide smaller flags for each classroom.
Trustee Cooper also spoke about personal attacks directed at him in public comments and asked that the board refrain from personal attacks on one another. "I would like to publicly request that when we start again in the fall, we refrain as best as is in our power for making personal attacks on each other in our school board meetings," he said.
Other trustees reported on promotion ceremonies, summer programming and community events. The president and superintendent thanked staff and families for a successful school year and noted summer school enrollment and upcoming board meeting dates.
