Caldwell County Fiscal Court approves routine business, accepts high bid on surplus van

The Caldwell County Fiscal Court met Aug. 13, 2024, at the courthouse. Judge-Executive William Dakota Young called the meeting to order, led the Pledge of Allegiance and read an ordinance aloud; five voting members (Young, Elbert Bennett, Jeff Boone, Brent Stallins and Jeff Simms) were recorded present.
The court approved the meeting agenda and minutes from July 9 and July 25, 2024, by unanimous vote. On financial business, the court approved the treasurer's transfers and authorized payment of bills after motions and seconds were recorded and votes taken. The court also set a deadline for paperwork and requests to be submitted to the judge's office by Aug. 23, 2024. The meeting adjourned following a unanimous motion to adjourn.
