Sandy Hunter, Huntsville Town Council liaison to the planning commission, reported at the Feb. 27 meeting that the town is pursuing formal action regarding a parcel that was subdivided without town approval. According to Hunter, the property owner sought subdivision approval in Weber County rather than through Huntsville’s processes; the town is preparing to file a certificate of non-compliance against that parcel.
Hunter said the town views the matter as an ongoing enforcement issue; no planning commission motion was taken at the Feb. 27 meeting. Shannon Smith, the town clerk, is responsible for maintaining the town’s database of land-use permits and will record enforcement filings. The commission noted the need to coordinate enforcement records with future permit and subdivision reviews.
