Kenton County selects Prus Construction as construction manager for new county park

Following an RFP and interviews, county staff and a selection committee recommended Prus Construction for construction-manager-at-risk services for the New County Park; commissioners approved the recommendation, and staff said earthwork could begin by October.
Assistant County Administrator Scott Gunning told the Court that seven bids were received and four firms were interviewed; the selection committee (including the Judge/Executive and Commissioner Sewell) unanimously chose Prus Construction for their public-park experience and ability to self-perform large portions of the project. "They stood out for their extensive experience in public park projects, their strong record in earthwork and utility work and their ability to self-perform a large portion of this project," Gunning said.
Gunning introduced consultant representatives on the project team and said staff will develop cost estimates and meet with commissioners this week for updates. County staff told the Court that construction teams hope to "start moving dirt by October" and that final contract negotiation authority was delegated to the Judge/Executive. Commissioners voted to approve the selection and authorized the Judge/Executive to negotiate the contract.
