Huntsville Town and Weber County agreed that the county will continue plowing a short section of 500 South that lies adjacent to the town, and the town will provide a wear plate (snow‑plow blade) annually as consideration.
The proposed interlocal agreement covers routine snow‑plowing consistent with county practices and specifies that Huntsville provide one wear plate per winter season; county staff provided a preliminary annual estimate that a blade change runs about $1,370 and that labor and material costs will be adjusted annually. The council requested a small wording change to describe the equipment as a wear plate rather than a whole snowplow blade so the town’s purchase matched the county’s needs, and then approved Resolution 2024‑08‑29 by a 5–0 vote.
Weber County staff also provided contextual cost numbers for occasional maintenance work (pothole patching, chip seal and overlays) that may be used as a reference if larger maintenance is later requested. The interlocal arrangement is intended to reduce duplication and avoid a costly one‑off purchase and staffing burden for a short stretch of roadway.
