The Berrien County Committee of the Whole convened Feb. 5 at 8:30 a.m. in the Board of Commissioners’ Room at the Berrien County Administration Center in St. Joseph. Chairperson R. McKinley Elliott called the meeting to order and the Clerk recorded 11 commissioners present and one absent (Chokwe Pitchford). The minutes list Rayonte Bell, Jim Curran, Teri Sue Freehling, Robert Harrison, Jon Hinkelman, Alex Ott, David Vollrath, Julie Wuerfel and R. McKinley Elliott as present for the motion to recess and open the Harbor Shores public hearing; Commissioners Sharon Tyler and Mamie Yarbrough arrived after that initial vote.
Commissioner David Vollrath moved, seconded by Commissioner Teri Sue Freehling, to recess the regular meeting at 8:38 a.m. and open the Harbor Shores Parcels 1 and 2 Brownfield Plan public hearing; the roll call on that motion recorded nine yeas and no nays. The public hearing was concluded at 9:01 a.m. on a motion by Commissioner Sharon Tyler, seconded by Commissioner David Vollrath; the roll call on that motion recorded 11 yeas and no nays. The meeting was adjourned at 9:02 a.m. by Chairperson Elliott. Minutes are to be approved at the next Committee of the Whole meeting.
